Tube Mill Drive System Destined for Nebraska

QVW Raft Sets and Tooling Destined for Indiana

New Machining Center

As part of a comprehensive plan to meet or exceed the heightened demands of the roll forming industry, Formtek has taken delivery of a new eight-axis, dual-chuck, machining center for its Cleveland location.  This addition, along with the existing CNC equipment will enable Formtek to produce roll tooling more efficiently, by eliminating many of the time consuming steps currently involved in tooling manufacture, while simultaneously increasing the quality and consistency of the tooling produced.

Formtek Installs Roll Forming System for Cable Tray

Formtek recently delivered a roll forming system for the manufacture of cable tray components.  The pre-punched roll forming system combined the expertise of Rowe press feed equipment, Yoder rafted roll forming machine and Hill Engineering custom hydraulic cutoff system, to provide the customer a high-speed production system for their cable tray components.  See the video of the machine at Video of Cable Tray.  For more information, contact sales@formtekgroup.com.



Yoder Delivers Pipe Mill Entry EquipmentYoder Pipe Mill

Yoder recently delivered new entry equipment for a customer's existing 6-5/8" Pipe Mill.  The new double holddown, double peeler system is an upgrade from the customers original setup.  With hands-free threading, the new equipment adds the capability of peeling off top or bottom, to accommodate the burr direction of incoming material and a thickness capacity of 3/8", high-strength steel.  For more information, contactyoder@formtekgroup.com.

B&K Installs Structual Supermill®

B&K recently delivered a 3TSR Supermill® System to Brazil as well as Canada.  The 3TSR can produce flange heights up to 3" for both track and stud components.  The flange heights are independently adjustable, without tooling change, from 1" track through 3" stud and track.  Web widths are adjustable from 2½" through 14".  The system's product range spans light gauge (0.015") through structural (0.105").  With 300 FPM production rates, thanks to patented rotary punch, shear, as well as the quick changeover of the Supermill gauge technology, the 3TSR is the most versatile, high-production framing system available.  For more information, contact bkformtek@formtekgroup.com, (216) 292-4460 or visit www.bkformtek.com.

Paul has over 26 years experience in the tool and die and roll forming industries as a toolmaker, field service technician, die design engineer and sales application engineer and has been with Hill Engineering since 1988. Paul has been a speaker and conference chairman for PMA, FMA and SME conferences, and has authored technical articles in leading industry publications. He is currently Chairman of FMA’s Roll forming and Technology Council.

Yoder 100th Anniversary
