QVW Raft Sets and Tooling Destined for Indiana
Yoder Manufacturing of Cleveland, Ohio, a Member of the Formtek Group, has recently supplied multiple sets of spare raft/roll stand assemblies and tooling to a large Tier 1 automotive operation. These rafting systems are part of an initiative for faster changeovers and decreased scrap for a given production period. New Machining Center
As part of a comprehensive plan to meet or exceed the heightened demands of the roll forming industry, Formtek has taken delivery of a new eight-axis, dual-chuck, machining center for its Cleveland location. This addition, along with the existing CNC equipment will enable Formtek to produce roll tooling more efficiently, by eliminating many of the time consuming steps currently involved in tooling manufacture, while simultaneously increasing the quality and consistency of the tooling produced.

Paul has over 26 years experience in the tool and die and roll forming industries as a toolmaker, field service technician, die design engineer and sales application engineer and has been with Hill Engineering since 1988. Paul has been a speaker and conference chairman for PMA, FMA and SME conferences, and has authored technical articles in leading industry publications. He is currently Chairman of FMA’s Roll forming and Technology Council.
